Update: turned out the best firmware is the latest professional (i.e. thought the process would be a breeze, but turned out the latest firmware CANNOT do bridging properly. Had a chance to set up another WZR-HP-G300NH2.

I set the SSID of the WZH-HP-G300NH2 (or the virtual interface) to be DIFFERENT than that of the primary router. Once I connected a machine via lan cable to the router and could connect to the internet (which means the bridge is working), I then proceed to add the virtual inerface, which effectively changed my new router from a Client Bridge to a Repeater Bridge.ģ. the WZR-HP-G300NH2 only supports wired client connections and not wireless).
